Our partners mean the world to us❤️

This time last year, we had Youth Build Northshore come out to the farm for a service day. They did exceptional work, and we learned more about them and their extraordinary mission.

" @ybnorthshore is a community workforce development program designed to serve the needs of young adults aged between 16 and 24.
Through YouthBuild, young people work towards their High School Equivalency Diploma, learn job skills, and become certified pre-apprentice level construction workers who serve their communities by building affordable housing or certified nursing assistants. The program model integrates education, leadership development, counseling, construction or health care, other training skills areas, and resources for graduates."

Our Director Jeannette has been so excited for our 2023 season to start; since it has, we've already accomplished so much.

-Started building our Veggie hoop house
- Broke ground on our herb Garden hoop house
-Expanded our Plant beds in the veggie garden
-added new crops to our crop list

And so much more!

Kohlrabi is typically grown as a cool-season veggie. Kohlrabi is in the Cauliflower and cabbage family
-an excellent source of Vitamin C, potassium, and fiber.

We are so excited to have kohlrabi on the farm this year. If you have a recipe that uses kohlrabi as an ingredient let us know! Dm or email us.

Our community is always looking for recipes that make cooking farm fresh foods fun and easy 🙌

The farm received our Delivery of Salt Marsh Hay

The farm received our Delivery of Salt Marsh Hay Round Bales!

Salt marsh hay is a type of hay that grows naturally near the Atlantic coast in salt marshes. This Hay is “organic material,” so when it breaks down, it adds organic matter to the earth, making it the perfect mulch.

A much better alternative to plastic or landscape fabric.
This “mulch” will also help us cut down on labor when weeding.

Next time you are out on the farm, take a peak at the hoop house and ask the farm team any burning questions you might have. We pride ourselves on being a learning farm, and the hoop house serves multiple purposes this growing season.
